What We Believe

  1. WE BELIEVE the entire Bible is inspired and infallible written Word of God.  ALL teaching must conform to Scripture or be rejected as false. (II Timothy 3:16-17)
  2. WE BELIEVE there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.  God is the Creator of all things, who is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent. (Mark 12:29, Matt 28:19, Isa 43:10)
  3. WE BELIEVE in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His future return to earth to establish His Kingdom. (Isa 7:14, Heb 4:15, Acts 2:22, 1 Pet 2:18-19)
  4. WE BELIEVE the Holy Spirit is a divine person, sent to empower, lead, teach, guide, and convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and judgment.   (1 Cor 3:16, John 14:16-17, 26, John 16:7-14, Acts 1:8)
  5. WE BELIEVE man is created in God’s image; all men have sinned through disobedience, thus incurring both spiritual and physical death.  Our sin separates us from God. Yet through salvation in Jesus Christ we can be restored to a place of fellowship with God, being accomplished as the spirit of man is born again by the Holy Ghost. (Gen 1:26-27, Rom 3:23, Rom 5:12-21, Rom 6:23, John 3:3)
  6. WE BELIEVE salvation is a gift to man from God, found only in Jesus Christ, through His blood. Salvation is obtained by faith and faith alone, apart from works. (Rom 6:23, Acts 4:12, Eph 2:8-9, Rom 3:28)
  7. WE BELIEVE that repentance is absolute in the assurance of salvation.  If a person believes himself to be saved yet lives an unrepentant life they are deceived. (Luke 13:3, Acts 2:38, Heb 12:14)
  8. WE BELIEVE that all born again Christians should follow Christ’s example of water baptism by immersion. Water baptism does not take away sin, but is a public confession of Christ. (Matt 28:19, Acts 8:35-38, Rom 6:1-7)
  9. WE BELIEVE that baptism of the Holy Ghost is an experience subsequent to salvation.  We believe that being filled with the Holy Ghost empowers each believer to live a life of victory, enabling them to effectively witness Jesus Christ.  The fruit of the Spirit should manifest in each believer and in the Church. (Mk 1:8, Acts 1:5, 8, Acts 19:1-6, Gal 5:22-23, 1 Cor 12:4-10)
  10. WE BELIEVE the Church of Jesus Christ is comprised of all believers and is God’s agency for accomplishing His will on earth.  Also one should be committed to a local church-physically, spiritually, and financially. (Eph 1:22-23, Matt 16:18, Heb 10:25, Mal 3:10)
  11. WE BELIEVE that the Second Coming of Christ is imminent and will be personal and visible.  This is the believer’s blessed hope to living a holy and faithful life. (Acts 2:11, 1 Thess 5:2, 1 Thess 4:16-17, Matt 24:32-42, Rev 16:15)
  12. WE BELIEVE heaven and hell to be literal, physical and eternal; heaven reserved for those who have accepted Christ as their Savior; hell is reserved for those who have rejected Christ.  The saved shall reign with Christ forever in His glory, while the unsaved are cast into the Lake of Fire, not to be annihilated but punished forever, separated from the presence of God. (John 14:2-3, Rev 21:1-4, Rev 20:11-15, Luke 16:19-26, 2 Cor 5:8)
